2's VS Aberdeen 2's Away 1/11/17

After a hard game last week at home against Aberdeen 1sts, the Glasgow 2nds were excited to make a strong come-back away against Aberdeen 2nds.

Glasgow were off to a good start with Kenzie Tommins on the draw, which was quickly transitioned up the pitch allowing top scorer Sherry Black to score the first goal. Despite Aberdeen fighting back with a couple of fast breaks resulting in two goals, Glasgow regrouped and fought back to end the first quarter winning 4-3, with Alexandra Bullard and K. Tommins adding to the goal total, as well as S. Black.

Glasgow dominated the second half, increasing the score to 8-5 as a result of some back to back goals from Lucy Stewart and A. Bullard, enabled by excellent midfield transitions, particularly between Mhairi Cargill, L. Stewart and S. Black. Defence also showed huge resilience against the strong Aberdeen offense; with goalie Mary Elisabeth Ward making some great saves and clears, as well as from Captain Sarah Elliot who maintained high levels of pressure against key Aberdeen attackers.

Glasgow continued to maintain a high standard of play both in terms of skill and endurance throughout the second half, despite a few tumbles on the slippery field. With further goals scored by Juliette Desportes and again from A. Bullard and S.Black, Glasgow were able to increase the score to 14-7 for the final whistle.

After a great game and fun road trip home, the 2nds are excited about the prospect of playing against Stirling at home next week and to continue what has already been a great improvement for the team.
